Many traders try to take as much guesswork out of their trading as possible so they are left with a strategy that generates higher-probability setups...at least that's the hope. There is comfort found in statistical analysis applied to the markets as it seems to take the responsibility out of the trader's hands. However, there may be more variability and uncertainty in these hard numbers than many appreciate. Seasonality effect, correlations and consecutive-run trends are just a few types of statistical analysis that are used regularly in the Forex and capital markets.
