Upcoming Webinars for Week of August 20 to August 25, 2017
Monday at 7:30 EDT/11:30 GMT: FX Week Ahead
Wednesday at 6:00 EDT/10:00 GMT: Mid-Week Trading Q&A
Thursday at 7:30 EDT/11:30 GMT: Central Bank Weekly
In this webinar I discuss the major central banks' monetary policies and their implications for FX markets as we cross through the ides of August. While this week was quieter on the central bank side of things - only the ECB and Fed meeting minutes were released - several of the major central banks have released policy statements over the past month that have had sweeping implications for FX markets.
Even if the typically quiet month of August ends with a whimper, central banks have set the stage for a volatile September.
Other topics covered include:
- Why have the RBA and the RBNZ taken to 'verbal intervention' in the Australian and New Zealand Dollars over the past few weeks?
- What did the July FOMC minutes reveal about the Fed's intention to tighten policy for the rest of the year?
- At what threshold will the ECB call foul on the Euro's meteoric rise over the past four months?
