John Kicklighter, Chief Strategist

Talking Points:

Having seen powerful moves from the markets in recent months, traders are eagerly scanning their charts for cues to signal the next big drive is starting. However, not all swells in well-trafficked, risk-leaning markets are genuine evidence of a deeper move building momentum. Oftentimes, certain assets or currency pairs can experience a jolt of volatility through a speculative lurch or fundamental surprise which quickly realigns to its more stolid market moorings. As the saying goes, the nail that sticks out the furthest is the first to be hammered down. In today's Strategy Video, we review some of this past session's most impressive moves with ambitious technical moves and assess whether they are temporary aberrations or the first moves in larger trends.
