Strategy Video: Top Themes and Catalysts for EURUSD, USDJPY and the Majors

Strategy Video: Top Themes and Catalysts for EURUSD, USDJPY and the Majors

John Kicklighter, Chief Strategist

Talking Points:

• There is plenty of event risk and appealing technical setups, but we should filter the best options

• Starting with a view of the top themes - risk trends and rate forecasts - we can identify top potential

• Between sentiment and monetary policy views, EURUSD, USDJPY, EURJPY and GBPUSD are my favorites

Market conditions change, and our strategy should reflect those changes. We have coded the DailyFX-Plus strategies for Breakout, Range and Momentum to adapt to these market shifts.

With so many glaring technical setups and high-profile event risk on deck next week, there are too many opportunities to kepe track of. A better approach than working off the 'triggers' to a good setup would be to start with the major fundamental themes that can get markets moving and keep them moving. In this weekend's Strategy Video, we look to refine the search for great setups by starting from the big picture and working to the signals. On the top of my list are EURUSD, EURJPY, USDJPY and the S&P 500.
