Statistics Sweden: Unemployment Holds Steady in February

The official Unemployment Rate, reported today by Statistics Sweden, matches the tone set forth in a publication drafted Wednesday by Sweden’s Public Employment Service.

Data shows 82K additional persons were employed between the ages of 15-74 during the month of February when measured year-over-year. The addition elevated the employment rate by 0.7 percentage points to 65.4%. This change corresponds to an unemployment rate of 8.4%, the same figure reported in January. Also increasing, the average number of hours worked in a week. The figure increased from 121.1 million hours in January to 157.2 million hours in February.
