We are heading into what is historically the lowest volatility month of the year, but this week’s docket carries the kind of event risk that can fight the current. There are two major themes that can generate market-wide volatility and even revive trends: risk appetite and relative stimulus efforts.

For relative stimulus, we are looking at four major central bank rate decisions: ECB, BoE, RBA and BoC. The most important and market-moving events are those for the European Central Bank (ECB) and Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA).

The true litmus test for stimulus watchers and trend mavens though is the November NFPs – this will directly impact the Fed’s QE3 taper decision. As this is the most important indicator for the week, it will be held in DailyFX Plus.
