U.K. October BRC shop price growth softened to 3.0% y/y, versus 3.6% in September, suggesting the retail prices have now started to come down. On the month, the price index fell 0.1% after having been flat in September. The BRC measure differs from the RPI indicator in that the former is more retail focused, excluding items which can not be bought in retail outlets, such as petrol, telephone charges, council tax and restaurant meals, which are all included in the RPI.
