Swiss December manufacturing PMI unexpectedly improved to 36.9, up from a record low of 35.2 in November and above the Reuters median for 34.7 as well as our own 34.5 forecast. Despite the December up-tick, the PMI still reveals a very gloomy picture for the manufacturing sector, with recession risk lingering for the Swiss economy.
