SNB Roth says he does not want further CHF appreciation because he wants to avoid deflation in comments in Handelsblatt and posted on Reuters. He says that the SNB does not give FX targets, but notes that the CHF has not risen further. Roth adds that the SNB is still far away from an interest rate turning point and that the SNB will stick to its policy decidedly. Roth sees risks to the economy to the downside but sees signs for moderately positive growth next year. He also says that he sees positive signs in the international financial community. The comments from Roth come after strong buying in EUR-CHF on Thursday from Swiss names that was believed to be fresh intervention by the central bank.
