Obama Seeks Long-Run Investments in Budget

In President Obama’s prime-time speech given at 8pm EST, the 44th president reminded the country that the financial crisis was caused because of policies that were in effect for years prior to is administration. His long-term vision will seek to assure that the nation does not return to a boom and bust cycle. He also added that bubbles give the “illusion of wealth.” By investing in clean-energy and health a more prosperous nation can emerge, he said. This is why this budget is not separable from the crisis at hand, according to the president.
