Sterling Libor rates continue to come down. Three month Libor was fixed at 2.240% today versus 2.259% Friday and the spread over OIS tightened by 5 bp to 130 bp. Meanwhile, one month Libor fell by 2 bp Friday to 1.650% but the overnight rate was fixed at 4 bp higher from Friday, to 1.556%. The U.K. government's new bank rescue package, unveiled today, is aimed at stabilizing the financial market and improving inter-bank lending in order to increase the availability of credit for household and businesses.
