Hello chili-vili, and thank you for your post! On behalf of myself and everyone here at FXCM, welcome to the forum community!

Can I deposit funds using an online payment method such as Moneybookers or PayPal?

FXCM does not accept Moneybookers or PayPal as forms of deposit. FXCM offers many other very flexible methods of depositing for standard accounts. We accept debit or credit Visa and Mastercards with a three digit security code on the back that are not prepaid cards or giftcards. The card needs to be a debit or credit card that you receive statements/bills for, as these sources of funds can be verified. We also offer deposits by bank wire, paper check and Automated Clearing House (ACH).

FXCM cannot accept any payments via a third party. We can neither guarantee the receipt nor the return of such payments. This is in order to prevent money laundering. FXCM can only accept deposits from sources that are under the name of the account holder(s). Moneybookers and PayPal are considered forms of third party deposit. Prepaid and gift cards are also considered forms of third party deposits, even if the clients name appears on the card. This is because the origin of funds using gift cards or prepaid cards cannot be verified and therefore are not accepted.

Please click here for all the information you will need to know regarding deposits.

I am new to the forex market, what type of account should I open?

If you don't mind me asking, how much were you looking to start with? I ask because standard accounts offer the functionality of trading micro lots (increments of 1K) and offer many advantages over micro accounts.

What advantages do standard accounts have over micro accounts?

Some of the advantages to holding a standard account include but are not limited to:

    • Different account denominations.

    • Different account types and platforms.

    • Plus much more!

Please click here for more information on the advantages of having a standard account.

The minimum starting balance for a standard account is $2000. Please let me know if a standard account would be something of interest to you, and I will be more than happy to put you in touch with a specialist that can go over all your options. If you are looking to open a micro account, you can open one by clicking on the link below:

Please let me know when you have submitted your application and I would be more than happy to help you with the depositing process. If you are already trading in the live market, if you don't mind me asking, how has your trading been coming along? What type of trading strategy are you utilizing at this time? I may have some resources that can help you to hone your strategy, or develop new ones. Please let me know if there is anything on my end that I can provide for you to help make your trading experience a better one.

Thank you in advance for your time chili-vili, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Thank you again for your post chili-vili! Please feel free to post with additional questions or contact me directly at julius@fxcm.com

Hello FX Hawk, and thank you for your post!

Is there a maximum limit to the amount of money I can have in my account?

There is no maximum amount of equity that you can hold in your account so the sky is the limit!

FXCM now has three distinct service levels. Your service level is based on your starting balance. Below are links that correlate to our services levels with our various entities.

The service levels for FXCM UK are the same as the US and AU service levels.
