According to many measures, Monday was the most volatile trading day for the broader market in years. The question for those trading the large EURUSD, USDJPY, S&P 500 and other risk-sensitive asset moves is whether this is a lasting sentiment change. There were a number of individual catalysts that happened to align Monday including the complicated Italian election, news of a leading BoJ Governor candidate and the first reaction to the UK downgrade amongst others.
