USD/CAD Technical Analysis: Digesting Losses Above 1.21

USD/CAD Technical Analysis: Digesting Losses Above 1.21

Talking Points:

  • USD/CAD Technical Strategy: Flat
  • Support: 1.2131, 1.2021, 1.1933
  • Resistance: 1.2198, 1.2307, 1.2397

The US Dollar is back to consolidating losses having turned lower against its Canadian namesake as expected. A daily close below the 23.6% Fibonacci expansion at 1.2131 exposes the 38.2% level at 1.2021. Alternatively, a rebound above the 14.6% Fib at 1.2198 clears the way for a test of the April 21 high at 1.2307.

The available trading range is too narrow to justify entering a trade on the long or short side from a risk/reward perspective. With that in mind, we will remain flat for now, waiting for price action to offer a more compelling opportunity down the road.
